Adaptation of the play “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare for the Brazilian South-Central region of the early 20th century. The son of a farmer returns home after his father’s death, finding his mother married to his uncle. The deceased returns from the afterlife, tells his son that he was murdered, and the boy promises revenge.

It won the Air France Award for Best Director and the Governor of the State of São Paulo Award for Best Director and Best Supporting Actress in 1971, in addition to the Special Award for Ozualdo R. Candeias and the Carlitos Trophy at the APCA Award (São Paulo Association of Art Critics) in 1972.
