One day, while visiting her mother's grave in a cemetery in Ouro Preto, the lovely and gentle Elza, almost without noticing, picks a rose from a random grave. With the same carelessness, she drops it in the street on her way home. From that day on, the telephone in her house becomes an instrument of torture. It rings every day, and always the same strange, distant, mournful voice is heard: "Where is the flower you stole from my grave?" What at first seems like a prank call turns into an increasingly terrifying nightmare. The family changes the phone number and goes to the police. All in vain. The voice continues. Other mysterious, hard-to-explain events begin to threaten the young woman's sanity. In the end, the family is revealed to be practitioners of Devil Worship, and Elza, upon discovering the truth, finds herself in the middle of a nightmare, alone and defenseless.
