The documentary tells the story of the emergence of some of the first film courses in Brazil and their fundamental role in the development of national cinema. With stories from teachers and students of these pioneering courses and extensive use of archival material, the film presents initiatives that sought to overcome financial and political problems to make Brazilian cinema possible and train new generations of filmmakers.
