In all its editions, the Cinema Marginal and Its Frontiers exhibition presented experimental films from the 1960s and 1970s, such as "The Margin" (“A Margem”) (Ozualdo Candeias, 1967), "Killed the Family and Went to the Movies" (“Matou a Família e Foi ao Cinema”) (Júlio Bressane, 1969), "Meteorango Kid, the Intergalactic Hero" (“Meteorango Kid, Herói Intergaláctico”) (André Luiz Oliveira, 1969), "The Red Light Bandit" (“O Bandido da Luz Vermelha”) (Rogério Sganzerla, 1968), and "Bang Bang" (Andrea Tonacci, 1971), and made previously inaccessible filmography available to new generations. Across the five editions, a total of 78 films were screened, many of which were considered lost. Sixty new 35mm prints were made especially for the screenings. In 2003, it received the award for best film event from the Rio de Janeiro Film Critics Association (ACCRJ). Throughout the editions of the exhibition, discussion panels, workshops and the publication of three editions of the book-catalogue were also held.
