Release of eight DVDs featuring films from the so-called Brazilian Marginal Cinema. The DVDs contain feature-length, medium- length, and short films, rarely seen, especially by younger generations, as some of the works have not been commercially released. These films are produced by filmmakers who found auteur cinema an efficient avenue for their production. In addition to extras such as interviews and previously unreleased documentaries, the DVDs include a 16-page booklet containing essays on the movement, critical articles, synopses and credits for the released films, and a “biofilmography” of the authors, including previously unreleased images and texts. This project is a partnership with Lume Filmes.
